Navigating MDaemon Webmail

Scroll Prev Top Next More

MDaemon Webmail's themes contain an array of navigation controls and toolbars that can be used to access its various features, and the look of these controls varies based on the theme you choose. WorldClient has its main navigation controls on the left (click the wct_nav icon to show/hide them), while Pro has them across the top. The main pane on the right is dynamic, containing the key elements of the page you are viewing, such as the Message List, Contacts, and user settings, as well toolbars and features related to that page. For example, when viewing your email, all themes have the Folder List on the left and the Message List in the main pane on the right.

Webmail's Main Components

Folder List

In both themes, your list of folders appears on the left side of the page. There are several different types of folders in Webmail, including: message folders, calendars, notes, and more. You can create folders and configure various folder options from the Folders settings, and you can use Filters to automatically sort messages into specific folders as each message arrives.

Message List

Your Message List is typically the first page you see after signing in to Webmail, unless you choose to use the Default View option in Personalize to change that. If that is set to different page, then click Email on the navigation bar to switch to the Message List. All messages in your Inbox are listed and can be sorted by Subject, Sender, Date, Size, and other columns. From here you can mark messages as read, delete messages, move or copy them to another folder, or open one in the Message View. In both themes, the Message List can also contain a preview pane, which displays the contents of whichever message you have selected in the list.

Chat

In the WorldClient theme, click Chat in the left menu to open Webmail's built-in instant messaging, if chat is available on your account. You can chat one-on-one with other users, join or create Chat Rooms for group conversations, and organize your contacts into groups. You can see who is online and set your own Chat Status from the menu under your email address in the upper right corner. In a conversation you can share files, react to messages, search the message history, and start a Web Conference Audio Call or Video Call. A side panel shows your recent email, so you can keep an eye on new messages while you chat.

Message View

When you click a message in the Message List, it is displayed in the preview pane. Double-click it to open it in its own window. This allows you to view the entire message and perform actions related to it, such as reply to it, forward it, delete the message, print it, add the sender to your address book, and more.

Compose

Composing messages in Webmail is straightforward. In either theme, click Compose, Reply, or Forward to open the Compose View, used for composing and sending your messages.

Calendar

Click Calendar in either theme to open your MDaemon Webmail Calendar, which you can use to manage and schedule your events and meetings. Meeting attendees can be invited through the calendar system, reminders can be scheduled, recurring events can be created, your calendar folder can be shared with other users, and much more. The calendar includes Day, Week, Month, and List views.

Contacts

Webmail's suite of features includes an address book, or contact store, that you can use to keep track of your contacts' email addresses, work and home addresses, phone numbers, and so on. Click Contacts in either theme to open your address book.

Tasks

Click Tasks to open the Tasks page. Tasks allow you to keep track of upcoming tasks and projects, tasks you have completed, and things you may be waiting for others to do.

Notes

Click Notes to create and manage your notes. Notes can be color-coded and associated with contacts and categories.

Documents

Click Documents to upload, store, and manage files in your Webmail account.

Web Conference

Use Web Conference to start or join an online video meeting with other users.

Settings

In the WorldClient theme, click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right corner to open the settings panel, then click an item to open its settings. In the Pro theme, Settings is a page with a list of sub-pages on the left. The available settings include: Personalize, Chat (WorldClient only), Security, Notifications, Compose, Email Templates, Autoresponder, Folders, Filters, Calendar, Mailboxes, Categories, Columns (Pro only), Cloud Apps, MDaemon Instant Messenger, MDaemon Connector, and Advanced Settings. Depending on your mail server's configuration and your account permissions, some of these settings may not be available to you.

Help

MDaemon Webmail is equipped with an extensive online Help system, available in several languages. Click your email address in the upper right corner, then click Help. Help is context sensitive: it opens directly to a topic related to the Webmail page you are viewing.

Sign Out

Click Sign Out to sign out of Webmail. You should always sign out and close your browser when you are finished working with your mail. This will aid in making sure that your mail is secure at all times. The Sign Out option is on the menu that appears when you click your email address in the upper right corner.
