To view a message, click it in the Message List. The message is displayed in the Message Preview pane beside or below the list. To open a message in its own Message View, double-click it. In the WorldClient theme, the message opens in a separate window. You can also choose Open in new window from the More actions menu or the Message List's shortcut menu. When the Message Preview Position is set to No Preview, clicking a message opens it in a separate window. Messages in your Drafts folder open in the Compose view instead, so that you can continue editing them. The Message View displays the From (Sender), To, Cc (if any), and Subject headers, as well as the body of the message and any file attachments.
Point to an address in the message's headers to display a contact card for that person. From the card, you can Add Contact to add the address to your Contacts, Send email to the address, or use Allow Sender or Block Sender to add it to your Allowed Senders or Blocked Senders folder.
In the WorldClient theme, the Message View can also display badges showing that a message is DKIM Verified, Encrypted, or Digitally Signed. When a message, such as a mailing list or newsletter message, contains unsubscribe information, an Unsubscribe or Unsubscribe by Email link is also displayed, which you can use to unsubscribe from the list. If a message contains a package tracking number from a carrier such as USPS, UPS, OnTrac, FedEx, or DHL, a Track my package link is also displayed. Click it to see the package's status on the carrier's website.
File attachments included with messages are listed below the message body. Supported file types can be opened in the browser by clicking the attachment's name. In the WorldClient theme, these options are available next to each attachment, depending on the type of file:
•Preview—View the attachment without downloading it.
•Download—Download the attachment and save it to your computer.
•Delete—Remove the attachment from the message.
•Save to Dropbox, Save to Google Drive, and Save to OneDrive—Save the attachment to a linked cloud storage account. See Saving Attachments to Cloud Storage below.
•Import Message, Import to Calendar, Import Contact, and Import Certificate—For an attached message, calendar event, contact, or certificate, import it into Webmail.
•Play Audio—Play an audio attachment. Click Stop Audio to stop it.
When a message has more than one attachment, you can also use Download All, Delete All Attachments, and, for image attachments, View Slideshow. In the Pro theme, click the download icon next to an attachment's name to download and save it to your computer. If you use a Chrome-based browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you can also drag an attachment from the message to your desktop to save it.
If your MDaemon Webmail account is linked to Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive in Cloud Apps, you can save file attachments directly to that account. To do so, click Save to Dropbox, Save to Google Drive, or Save to OneDrive next to the file attachment. In the Pro theme, click Yes to confirm your decision to save the file, unless you have turned on Hide Save Confirmation in Cloud Apps. Files saved to Dropbox are placed in the MDaemon_Attachments folder, and files saved to Google Drive are placed in the My Drive folder.
As a security precaution, remote images in a message will not be displayed automatically when you open the message. In the WorldClient theme, a bar at the top of the message tells you that, "Remote images have been blocked for your security." Click Load Images if you wish to view the images. In the Pro theme, the bar tells you that, "Remote images were blocked. Click here to view them." Click the bar if you wish to view the images.
Similarly, when the links in a message have been disabled, a bar tells you that, "Hyperlinks are disabled. Click here to enable them." Click Enable Links if you wish to use the links.
Click Summarize this message on the toolbar to use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate a summary of the contents of a message. This can be a helpful tool to use when viewing very long messages or messages comprised of many back and forth replies in a conversation. Click Translate this message to use AI to translate the message.
In the WorldClient theme, a window opens with a notice that the feature retrieves AI generated responses from your server's configured AI provider. Click Generate to generate the summary or translation. When it is displayed, you can click Copy to clipboard to copy it.
In the Pro theme, you will be presented with a confirmation page with the following warning:
"This feature retrieves AI generated responses from a third party API. Please take care not to include personal, private, confidential, sensitive, or critical information or any intellectual property in any message that you submit to this feature. Please familiarize yourself with the third party API's policies here: https://www.mdaemon.com/aipolicy"
Click Summarize the message or Translate the message to then generate the summary or translation. If you do not wish to see the confirmation warning message each time you use these features, check the box labeled, "In the future make the summary requests immediately." or "In the future make the translate requests immediately."
These features and Webmail's other AI Message Features may not be available to everyone.

At the top of the Message View is the Message View Toolbar. The table below outlines the options available on the toolbar. In the WorldClient theme, the less frequently used options are on the More actions menu (the vertical ellipsis button). In the Pro theme, the reply and forward options are on the Compose Options menu, and several other options are on a menu at the end of the toolbar.
Toolbar Options |
Description |
Edit Draft |
For a message in your Drafts folder, open the message in the Compose view so that you can continue editing it. |
Reply |
Reply to the currently displayed message. The Compose view will open with the To, From, and Subject headers automatically filled in for you. The Subject header will be the same as the current message's Subject, but preceded by "Re:". In addition, the body of the current message will be included below your reply. |
Reply All |
If the currently displayed message was addressed to multiple To and Cc recipients, use Reply All to send a reply to the sender and all of the original recipients. In every other way, this feature is identical to Reply. |
Forward |
Forward is identical to Reply except that the To header will not be automatically filled in, and the Subject will be preceded by "Fwd:" instead of "Re:". |
Forward As Attachment |
Forward the message as an attachment. You will compose a new email normally, and the original message will be included with it as a separate file attachment. |
Resend |
For a message that you sent, send the message again. |

Open the message in a separate window (WorldClient theme, when the message is displayed in the Message Preview pane). |
Move to Folder Copy to Folder |
Choose a folder to move or copy the message to. |
Set Categories |

New Event New Task New Note |
Create an Event, Task, or Note containing the contents of the message. |
Mark as Spam Mark as Not Spam |
Identify the message as spam (junk email), or as a legitimate message (non-spam). Regularly using these options can help the server identify spam for you in the future and filter it automatically, and can help prevent legitimate messages from being flagged as spam by mistake. In the Pro theme, these options are called Spam and Not Spam. |
Add Filter |
Create a Filters rule that will match similar incoming messages, such as messages from the same sender or with the same subject. This option is only available if you are allowed to edit filters. |
Text Reader |
Have speech synthesis read the message aloud. Note: This is not supported in some browsers. |
View Source Save Source |
View Source opens the message in a separate browser window which displays the message's contents and all of its headers, even those headers that are ordinarily hidden when viewed in an email client. Save Source saves the message to your computer or device as an .eml file, which contains the message's contents and all of its headers. |
The Message Recall feature makes it possible for you to attempt to stop a message that you have already sent from being delivered. When viewing a message in your Sent Items folder that can still be recalled, such as a message that was sent very recently or whose delivery was deferred, a Recall option appears on the toolbar. A recall button is also displayed next to the message in the Message List. Click it to attempt to recall the message. You will then receive an email informing you whether or not your email server was able to stop the message from being delivered. Note: This feature may not be available for everyone.
