Use the Compose settings to control how you compose messages and how the Compose page appears. Some options are available in only one theme.

Format

Default Compose Location

In the WorldClient theme, choose where the Compose page opens: in a New Window (the default), a New Tab, or a Modal window over the current page.

HTML Compose

Check this box if you wish to allow text formatting when composing messages. A set of tools will appear above the text area on the Compose page, which will allow you to choose fonts, text size, colors, paragraph formatting, and more. If you disable this option then your messages will be sent in plain-text format. This option is enabled by default.

Preserve Office Formatting

In the WorldClient theme, check this box to keep the original formatting of text that you paste from Microsoft Office programs, such as Word.

Default HTML Compose Font

This is the font that will be used in the HTML compose editor when no other font is specified. This option has no effect when the HTML Compose option above is unchecked.

Default HTML Compose Font Size

This is the font size that will be used in the HTML compose editor when no other size is specified. This option has no effect when the HTML Compose option above is unchecked.

Compose Font Size

This is the font size that will be displayed in the compose editor for plain text messages. This option is shown only when the HTML Compose option above is off.

Disable the HTML editor context menu

Ordinarily when composing a message, right-clicking in the text entry window displays a customized context menu. Turn on this option to replace the customized menu with the web browser's normal context menu.

From Address

Default From Address

Use the drop-down list to choose the default email address or alias that you wish to use as the From address of your messages.

Default From Address on Reply

Use the drop-down list to choose the default email address or alias that you wish to use as the From address when replying to a message.

Default From Address on Forward

Use the drop-down list to choose the default email address or alias that you wish to use as the From address when forwarding a message.

Edit Alias Display Names

Click this button if you wish to edit the display name portion of any alias associated with your Webmail account. For example, you could use this option to change, "Frank Thomas" <alias@company.test> to "Acct Manager" <alias@company.test>. In the Alias Display Names dialog, click Edit display name next to any name you wish to change, edit the name, and then save it. Click Restore default display name to undo a change. This button is available only if your administrator allows you to edit alias display names.

Default Reply-To Address

If you wish to set a default Reply-To email address for your messages, type the address here. Whenever a recipient of one of your messages clicks Reply, this is the address to which the reply message will go. This address is filled in automatically as the Reply-To address of each new message.

Advanced Compose

Check this box if you want the CC and BCC fields to be displayed whenever you start composing a message. This option is disabled by default.

Automatic CC/BCC

Automatically CC these emails

Enter one or more addresses to add to the CC field of every message you compose. Separate multiple addresses with commas, or click Add From Contacts to choose them from your contacts.

Automatically BCC these emails

Enter one or more addresses to add to the BCC field of every message you compose. Separate multiple addresses with commas, or click Add From Contacts to choose them from your contacts.

Reply & Forward

The options in this section determine how the original text of a message will be handled when replying to or forwarding a message.

Original Message Attribution

Choose the desired option to use for the attribution of the original message when replying to or forwarding a message.

None - No attribution will be included when replying to or forwarding messages.

Include From, Date, To, and Subject lines from original message - This is the default option. The listed original message headers will be included in the message body when replying or forwarding.

Custom format (plain-text only) - Use this option if you wish to customize the content of the attribution used in replies and forwarded messages, and then enter your format in Custom Attribution Format. The format is set by default to: "On %SENTDATEANDTIME%, %SENDER% wrote:". "%SENTDATEANDTIME%" and "%SENDER%" are required macros that will be replaced with the date/time the original message was sent and the sender of the message, respectively. For example, by default this option would create an attribution that looks like this: "On Tue, 19 April 2018 18:01:03 -0500, "Frank Thomas" <frank.thomas@company.test> wrote:". Click Default to restore the default format. NOTE: If either macro is omitted from your custom attribution, Webmail will instead use the "Include From, Date, To, and Subject lines from original message" option above.

When replying to a message

Use the drop-down list to choose how to format the original message's text when replying to messages. You have the following options:

Do not include original message - Choose this option if you do not wish to include the original message's content in your reply.

Attach original message - This option includes the original message as a file attachment rather than include its text in the message body.

Include original message text - Choose this option if you wish to include the original message body unchanged in your reply (without indenting it or prefixing each line).

Include and indent original message text - This option includes the original message body in your reply, but indents it.

Prefix original message text - This is the default option. The original message body will be included with a solid vertical bar on its left.

When forwarding a message

Use the drop-down box to choose how to format the original message's text when forwarding messages. You have the following options:

Attach original message - This option includes the original message as a file attachment rather than include its text in the message body.

Include original message text - Choose this option if you wish to include the original message body unchanged in the forwarded message (without indenting it or prefixing each line).

Include and indent original message text - This option includes the original message body in the forwarded message, but indents it.

Prefix original message text - This is the default option. The original message body will be included with a solid vertical bar on its left.

Prefix each line in a plain-text message with

When you have selected either of the "Prefix original message text" options and the Compose page is set to send messages in plain-text format (see the HTML Compose option above), Webmail will prefix each line of the original text with the characters designated here. The designated prefix can be up to four characters long and a space will be added after it in your message. The default is >.

Click this checkbox if you would like Webmail to automatically place a copy of your outgoing message into your Sent folder. This option is enabled by default.

Warn on Blank Subject

Clear this check box if you do not wish to be warned if you try to send a message that has a blank Subject line. This option is enabled by default.

Request Delivery Confirmation

Check this box if you want the Delivery Confirmation option on the Compose page to be selected by default for new messages.

Enable RPost

RPost provides services for email proof and tracking, secure encryption, and electronic signatures. Click this option if you wish to turn on RPost support in Webmail. When active, a Send via RPost or Send Registered button will appear on the Compose page's toolbar next to the Send button. To use this feature you must have an RPost account. Go to rpost.com to setup an account.

Enable Dropbox Preview Link

When adding links to Dropbox files on the Compose page, use a Dropbox preview link instead of a direct download link.

Assign Signatures

In both themes you can create custom signatures and assign them to specific aliases associated with your account. Then, when you switch your From address while composing a message, its associated signature will appear in the Compose area. There is also a Signature option on the Compose page that allows you to switch between your signatures at will, or select no signature at all, regardless of the selected From address.

Enable Reply and Forward Signatures

Enable this option if you wish to modify how your signature will appear when replying to or forwarding messages.

Replying Signature

Use the drop-down list box to choose the signature that you wish to use when replying to a message. Choose Defer (use the Settings Below) if you wish to use the normal Email Address and Default Signature settings below rather than a custom reply signature. Choose No Signature if you do not wish to insert a signature in replies.

Forwarding Signature

Use the drop-down list box to choose the signature that you wish to use when forwarding a message. Choose Defer (use the Settings Below) if you wish to use the normal Email Address and Default Signature settings below rather than a custom forwarding signature. Choose No Signature if you do not wish to insert a signature when forwarding a message.

Email Address

This drop-down list box contains any addresses or aliases associated with your account. These are the addresses that you are allowed to use as your From address when composing messages. Select an address here and then choose a Default Signature to associate with that address.

Default Signature

Select an Email Address above and then choose the default signature for that address. Whenever that address is selected on the Compose page this signature will appear automatically in the Compose area.

Edit Signatures

In the WorldClient theme, your signatures are listed here. To create one, click New Signature, enter a Name, compose the signature in the editor (Signature Preview shows how it will look), and click Save. To change or delete a signature, click the edit or delete icon next to it.

In the Pro theme, choose a signature from the Signatures list to edit it, make your changes, and click Apply Changes, or click Delete to remove it. To create a signature, click New, enter its name, compose it, and click Save.

The Default signature cannot be deleted or renamed.

If there is a System signature in the list, it cannot be edited or removed. It is managed by your email administrator.
