MDaemon Webmail has many settings for customizing how its features work, organized into the pages described below. Some pages are available in only one theme, and some may not be available to you, depending on your mail server's configuration and your account permissions. In the WorldClient theme, click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right corner to open the settings panel, and then click an item to open its settings. In the Pro theme, Settings is a page with a list of sub-pages on the left.

Settings Search

You can search for a setting by name — at the top of the Settings page, use the Search option. Start typing words from the setting or page you are looking for, and a list of links to the matching settings is displayed.

Personalize

The Personalize settings let you choose your language, time zone, and theme, and set many other Webmail preferences, such as how your message list, messages, and contacts are displayed. In the WorldClient theme, they also include the page Webmail opens when you sign in (Default View), the style, dark mode, and font, and your keyboard shortcuts. In the Pro theme, they also control whether the in-browser instant messaging feature is displayed.

Chat

Available in the WorldClient theme when chat is enabled for your account. Use the Chat settings to control typing indicators, the Enter key, delivery and read receipts, mention notifications, message formatting, and other chat options.

Security

The Security settings are used to change your password, set a recovery email address to help you sign in to Webmail if you ever forget your password, set up sign-in passkeys and Two Factor Authentication (i.e. 2-Step Verification), and manage App Passwords. They also display your Webmail sign-in history.

Notifications

Use these settings to choose which Desktop Notifications Webmail displays for new email, event and task reminders, and chat messages, which sounds it plays, and your reminder options.

Compose

Use the Compose settings to customize how you compose messages, such as your default From address, whether copies of sent messages are saved in your Sent folder, customized signatures, and more.

Email Templates

Use the Email Templates feature to create pre-written common messages, or regularly used blocks of text to insert into messages.

Autoresponder

Using the Autoresponder settings you can set up an email message to be sent automatically in response to any messages you receive, for example to tell the sender that you are on vacation.

Folders

Use the Folders settings to manage your folders, choose which ones appear in the Folder List and as favorites, choose which folders to use for Drafts, Sent, and Trash, and set other folder-related options.

Filters

If your account is permitted to use Filters, you can use them to automatically sort messages into specific folders, forward them to another email address, or delete them, based on the content of the message, its sender or recipients, its size, or other criteria.

Calendar

The Calendar settings are used to set your default Calendar view (e.g. Week or Month view), date format, business hours, reminder, meeting request, and free/busy options, and more.

Mailboxes

If you have been given access to the Mailboxes settings, you can use them to collect email from your accounts on other mail servers.

Columns

Available in the Pro theme. Use the Columns page to manage the type and order of columns that will be displayed under the Message List, Contacts, Tasks, Notes, and Documents. In the WorldClient theme, columns are managed by clicking the wct_columns columns icon on the toolbar when viewing a page.

Categories

Use the Categories settings to manage the categories that you can assign to Email Messages, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes. You can add custom categories, edit and delete existing ones, change the color associated with them, and rearrange them.

Cloud Apps

If your server allows it, you can use the Cloud Apps settings to connect Webmail to your Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive account. You can then save message attachments to your cloud storage, upload files to it, and browse your cloud folders alongside your mail.

MDaemon Instant Messenger

MDaemon Instant Messenger (MDaemon IM) is a desktop application that you can download from the MDaemon Instant Messenger settings and install on your computer. It is an instant messenger program that you can use to communicate with other MDaemon IM users who share your email server. It can also monitor your email account for incoming mail, notify you when new messages arrive, allow you to view your message count by folder, and open Webmail in your browser, all from the MDaemon IM icon on your taskbar. For more information about MDaemon Instant Messenger, see its online help system after you download and install it.

MDaemon Connector

MDaemon Connector is a separate plug-in that you can download and install that will make it possible for you to synchronize your Contacts, calendar events, Tasks, Notes, and so on between Microsoft Outlook and MDaemon Webmail. MDaemon Connector is not available to all users. If you do not have access to this plug-in, the MDaemon Connector link will not be visible under Webmail's Settings.

Advanced Settings

Some users may have an additional level of access to their mail server settings through the MDaemon Remote Administration (MDRA) interface. This allows them to change how the MDaemon mail server handles some advanced aspects of their email settings that cannot be managed through Webmail. If you have access to MDRA then click the Advanced Settings link to open MDRA in a new browser tab or window.

Restart Welcome Tour

In the WorldClient theme, click Restart Welcome Tour at the bottom of the settings panel to step through the welcome tour again.
