Webmail themes support document sharing using Documents folders. Documents folders are like other shared folders in that you can give other MDaemon Webmail users access to them. You can set the access permissions separately for each user and set the level to: Full Control, Editor, Reader, or No Access. Further, you can create any number of these folders and use them to store or share any types of files. You can upload files to your folders using the built-in tools, filenames can be searched and renamed, and files can be attached to new messages that are being composed. You can also upload files by dragging them from your computer into the document list.
In the WorldClient theme, use Card view and List view to show your documents as cards or as a list, and Customize Columns to choose the columns in List view. Click All (Show documents from all folders) to see the documents from all of your folders at once, use Sort documents to change the order, and Search documents to find a file by name (click Clear Search to show all of them again). When you pause the pointer over a file, buttons appear to Rename it, Set Description, Download it, Attach to Message, or create a Document Link. Right-click a file for these and other options.
When you have connected Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive in Cloud Apps, its folders are listed with your Documents folders, and the instructions below work the same way. Select the cloud folder instead of a regular documents folder.
To upload a file to a Documents folder:
1.Click Documents in the navigation pane. The Folder List then shows your documents folders, so you can select a different one.
2.In the WorldClient theme, turn on Overwrite if uploaded files should replace existing files with the same name. Otherwise a number is added to the new file's name.
3.Click Upload.
4.Select the files you want to upload, and click Open. You can also drag files from your computer into the document list.
Double-click a file, or right-click it and choose Download. In WorldClient you can also pause the pointer over the file and click Download. In Pro, files in a Google Drive folder also have a Google Drive icon (View File) that opens the file in Google Drive. In the Pro theme, if you use a Chrome-based browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you can also drag a file from the document list to your desktop to download it.
To rename a file in a Documents folder:
1.Click Documents in the navigation pane, and select the documents folder in the Folder List.
2.Right-click the file and choose Rename (Rename File in Pro). In WorldClient you can also pause the pointer over the file and click Rename.
3.Type a name for the file, and click OK.
Right-click a file and choose Set Description to add a short description of it. The description is shown in the Description column of the document list.
To let someone download a file without giving them access to your folder, right-click the file and choose Document Link (Link in Pro), and then click Create Link. Click Copy to copy the link so that you can paste it into a message. Links are deleted automatically after 30 days, or you can click Delete Link to remove one sooner. Links can only be created for files in your own folders (not shared, public, or cloud folders), and only if your administrator allows them.
To copy or move a file to another folder:
1.Click Documents in the navigation pane, and select the documents folder in the Folder List.
2.Select the files, then right-click and choose Move to Folder or Copy to Folder (Move or Copy in Pro).
3.Select the destination folder, and click Copy or Move.
To delete a file from a Documents folder:
1.Click Documents in the navigation pane, and select the documents folder in the Folder List.
2.Select the files and click Delete, or right-click a file and choose Delete.
3.Click OK to confirm your decision to delete the file.
To attach one or more of the files contained in a Documents folder to a new message:
1.Click Documents in the navigation pane, and select the documents folder in the Folder List.
2.Select the files that you wish to attach to a new message.
3.Click Attach to Message, or right-click a file and choose Attach to Message.
4.Continue composing the message normally.
Alternatively, when you are already in the process of composing a message, you can attach files contained in the documents folder by using the Attachment options on the compose page.
Files contained in a Google Drive folder cannot be attached directly from your Google Drive documents folder. You must first Copy or Move the file into a regular Documents folder, then you can attach it to a message normally.
For information on folder sharing, see Sharing Folders on the Folders page under Settings.
