Use the Compose page to compose new email messages. To open it, click Compose. The page will be opened automatically when replying to or forwarding messages. In the WorldClient theme, the Default Compose Location option in the Compose Options settings determines whether the page opens in a new window, in a new tab, or within the current page.
To compose an email message from Webmail's Compose page:
1.If you can send messages from more than one address, use the "From" drop-down list box to choose the address of the mailbox from which you wish to send the message. This list will contain an entry for each mailbox or alias that you have permission to send from. In the Pro theme, the From list is located in Advanced Options (see Advanced Compose below).
2.Type the recipients' email addresses into the "To" field. The "To" field has Auto Complete functionality built into it to help you insert addresses as you type. Use the Enter key or mouse to select a contact from the Auto Complete list. Each address is displayed as a separate item, which you can remove by clicking its X. To add Cc (Carbon Copy) or Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy) recipients, click Cc/Bcc beside the "To" field to display those fields. Bcc recipients receive the message, but their addresses are not visible to the To and Cc recipients. To choose recipients from your contacts, click "To", "Cc", or "Bcc" in the WorldClient theme, or the Address Lookup icon in the Pro theme. For instructions on how to use the Address Lookup feature, see: Address Lookup.
3.Type the subject of the message into the "Subject" field. Filling in the subject isn't required but is customary and may help the recipients identify and reference your message.
4.Type the body of your message into the text box provided beneath the message headers. When the HTML Compose option is enabled on the Compose Options page, a formatting toolbar is displayed above the text box.
5.When you finish composing your message, click Send. If you haven't finished composing your message, click Save if you wish to save the message to your Drafts folder and continue working on it, or click Save and Close if you wish to save it to drafts and then close it. Click Discard if you do not wish to keep the message. In the WorldClient theme, you can also press Ctrl+Enter to send the message, or Ctrl+S to save it.
6.If you click Send after your session has timed out, the text will be saved as a Draft message that can be resumed after logging back in to Webmail.
To add someone to your contacts while you are composing a message, click New Contact on the toolbar, enter the person's First Name, Last Name, Email address, and Phone number, and click Save.
Some MDaemon Webmail servers are configured to allow users to schedule messages to be delivered at a later date or time. To use the Send Later option:
1.Use the Compose page to compose an email message.
2.Click Advanced Options on the toolbar. In the Pro theme, click Options and then Advanced Options.
3.Use the Send Later date and time options to choose the date and time that you want your message to be delivered, and click Save.
4.Click Send. Your message will then be sent to the server, which will hold it until the scheduled time. Then it will attempt to deliver the message normally.
To remove the scheduled time before sending the message, open Advanced Options again and click Cancel Send Later. After a scheduled message is sent, you can still stop it from being delivered by recalling it before the scheduled time.
To use an Email Template:
1.In the body of the message, place the cursor where you wish to insert the Email Template's text.
2.On the formatting toolbar above the body of the message, click Templates.
3.In the list of templates, which shows each template's Title and Description, click the template you want. Its text is inserted wherever the cursor is in the message body, or at the top of the body if you haven't clicked in it yet.
The Templates list is available only when the HTML Compose option is enabled and you have at least one email template.
To include one or more file attachments with your message in the WorldClient theme, drag the files onto the attachments area below the body of the message, or click Attach there to choose files stored on your computer or device. To attach files that are stored online in your Documents folders, click Your Documents on the toolbar, select the files, and click Attach Selected. Attached files are listed below the message; click the X beside a file to remove it.
In the Pro theme, click Attach to attach files stored on your computer or device, or Attach Docs to attach files from your Documents folders. You can also drag files onto the Compose page.
When Dropbox is available, there is an Insert Dropbox link icon on the formatting toolbar above the body of the message. If you wish to insert a link to a file in your Dropbox account:
1.Click the Dropbox icon.
2.Sign in to Dropbox if you aren't signed in already.
3.Click the desired file in Dropbox, and click Choose.
Rather than attaching the file to your message, this inserts a Dropbox link into your message. The message recipient can click the link to download the file directly from Dropbox.
Click Advanced Options on the toolbar to open the Advanced Compose options for the message. In the Pro theme, click Options and then Advanced Options. These options include:
•Reply-To—Designate an address if you want replies to your message to come to an address other than what you used in the From header.
•Signature—Choose the signature to use in the message.
•Send Later—Schedule the message to be delivered later (see above).
•Urgent Message—Designate the message as High Priority.
•Delivery Confirmation and Read Confirmation—Request confirmation that the message was delivered, or that it was read.
•Save to Sent Items—Save a copy of the message in your Sent Items folder. This option is enabled by default.
In the Pro theme, the From address is also chosen here. Click Save to apply your choices. You can set the default values for some of these options on the Compose Options page.
If MDaemon PGP encryption is available to you, click MDaemon PGP Encryption Options (the lock icon) on the toolbar. In the Pro theme, click Options and then Encryption Options. Choose one of these options, and click Save:
•Do nothing—Send the message normally.
•Encrypt if possible—Encrypt the message if possible. The message is sent even if it cannot be encrypted.
•Require Encryption—Encrypt the message. The message bounces if it cannot be encrypted.
•Get my public key—MDaemon will send you your public PGP key.
•Get the public key for—MDaemon will retrieve the public PGP key for the address you enter, if it is available.
If the RPost registered email service is enabled on the Compose Options page, click Send via RPost (Send Registered in the Pro theme) to send the message as a registered email. In the Send Registered Email message window, choose the tracking, encryption, and electronic signature options you want, and click Send.
The Message Recall feature makes it possible for you to attempt to stop a message that you have already sent from being delivered. When viewing a message in your Sent Items folder that can still be recalled, such as a message that was sent very recently or whose delivery was deferred, a Recall option appears on the toolbar. Click it to attempt to recall the message. You will then receive an email informing you whether or not your email server was able to stop the message from being delivered. Note: This feature may not be available for everyone.
Webmail is equipped with multiple features that use artificial intelligence (AI), both for your convenience and to help you increase productivity. It is worth noting, however, that these features retrieve AI generated responses from a third-party API. Therefore please take care not to include personal, private, confidential, sensitive, or critical information or any intellectual property in any messages that you submit to these features. You can find information about MDaemon's policy regarding these AI features at: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Information Page. Note: These features may not be available for all users.
When replying to a message, click Suggest Reply on the toolbar to have the AI examine the contents of the message and then compose a suggested reply for you. The suggested reply will be based on the content of the message and the following customizable criteria you set:
Tone — the tone of the reply can be set to: Professional, Respectful, or Casual.
Position — the position, or stance, for the AI to take in the reply can be set to: Interested, Not Interested, Agreeable (Agree in the Pro theme), Disagreeable (Disagree in the Pro theme), or Skeptical.
Attitude — the attitude that the reply should convey can be set to: Confident, Excited, Calm, or Apologetic.
Length — set the length of the reply to: Very Brief, Brief, Normal, or Detailed.
When you've selected your criteria, click Generate (Suggest message reply in the Pro theme). After reviewing the suggested reply, you can change any of the options above and generate a new reply based on the new criteria. An All responses drop-down box will appear so that you can review the differences between all of the generated responses. When you are satisfied with a selected response, click Use Response (Compose with this reply in the Pro theme). This will close the window and paste the text into your message, where you can make any edits to it that you desire. In the Pro theme, there is also a "Copy to clipboard" link on each response.
When you are replying to a message or composing a new one, click AI Email Assist on the toolbar to have the AI improve the text of your email. The generated email will be based on some keywords or text you have included, and on the same Tone, Position, Attitude, and Length criteria described above.
When you've selected your criteria, click Generate (Improve my email in the Pro theme). After reviewing the suggested text, you can change any of the options above and generate a new response based on the new criteria, and use the All responses drop-down box to compare them. In the WorldClient theme, click Show original text to compare a response with your original text. When you are satisfied with a selected response, click Use Response (Replace Text in the Pro theme). This will close the window and paste the response text into your message, replacing the original keywords or text that you included. You can then make any edits to it that you desire.
Summarize or Translate a Message
Located on the Message View, these features allow you to use AI to generate a summary of the contents of a message, or to translate the message. A summary can be a helpful tool to use when viewing very long messages or messages comprised of many back and forth replies in a conversation.
