This page lists the folders used by SecurityGateway to manage various types of files. You can customize the folder locations by changing any of the paths below and then clicking Save on the toolbar.

Directory Settings

Message Data:

This is the folder where SecurityGateway stores message content once it has moved out of the inbound queue.

Message Logs \ SMTP Transcripts:

This is where SecurityGateway stores the SMTP session transcripts associated with the entries in the Message Log.

Attachments:

This is the folder where SecurityGateway will store file attachments included with messages as long as those messages reside on the SecurityGateway server.

The contents of this folder are not included in SecurityGateway's internal Backup and Restore files. If you wish to backup attachments then use your third party backup software or some other external method to do so.

Logs:

SecurityGateway's log files are stored here.

Inbound Queue:

This is the folder SecurityGateway will use as a message queue for inbound messages.

Sieve Executable Path:

This is the working directory used when a Sieve content filter rule runs the execute action to invoke an external program.

Temp:

This is the temporary folder that will be used for processing.

Bayesian Learning Non-spam:

When using the Bayesian Learning feature, this is the folder where non-spam messages should be placed.

Bayesian Learning Spam:

When using the Bayesian Learning feature, this is the folder where spam messages should be placed.

Bayesian Replication:

When clustering with an external database, this is the shared folder used to replicate the Bayesian learning database from the primary server to the other nodes. This option only appears when clustering is configured with an external database.

Backup:

This is where backup files are stored. For optimal performance, we recommend setting this folder to a different physical disk drive.

Backup (Archive Stores):

This is where archive store backup files are stored, separate from the database backup files in the Backup folder above.

Archive Queue:

This is the folder SecurityGateway uses as a queue for messages waiting to be archived.

Archive Export:

This is where files created by the Archiving Export feature are saved.

Archive Retry:

This is where messages are held after a failed archiving attempt, until SecurityGateway retries archiving them.

Archive Failure:

This is where messages are moved after they exhaust their archiving retry attempts. These messages appear on the Failed Messages page.

Crash memory dump files:

This is the location of any memory dump files that are generated automatically if the securitygateway.exe process crashes.
